The fourth Test of the ongoing five-match series between India and England will be played at Old Trafford in Manchester from July 23 to 27. In the build-up to the match, which is expected to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller like the last one, the Indian team is dealing with injury-related issues for at least four players, while the English team also has a couple of fitness-related concerns.

While the match is still three sleeps away, it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds in the next 60 hours.

Here’s a look at five players who are either out or are doubtful for the fourth India-England Test at Old Trafford:

Shoaib Bashir: England spinner Shoaib Bashir suffered a finger injury on his non-bowling hand on Day 3 of the third India-England Test at Lord’s, because of which he was ruled out of the last two matches. In his absence, Liam Dawson was added to England’s 14-member squad, and the 35-year-old is in contention to play his first Test for England since July 2017.

Arshdeep Singh: Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, in all likelihood, will miss the fourth Test in Manchester. The 26-year-old cricketer, who is yet to make his Test debut for India, hurt his bowling hand in his follow-through during a training session in Beckenham on Thursday. As per the available information, he has a deep cut and has stitches on his bowling hand.

Akash Deep: Akash Deep was India’s best bowler in the second Test, where he picked up a total of 10 wickets for 187 runs. But the cricketer from Bihar is doubtful for the fourth Test due to a groin injury. It has been reported that Akash Deep has picked up a groin niggle.

Rishabh Pant: Rishabh Pant is India’s first-choice wicketkeeper-batter in Test cricket. The left-handed batter suffered a finger injury on Day 1 of the Lord’s Test, and he didn’t keep the wickets after 34 overs in the first innings. There is no official update about his recovery from the finger injury, and there are high chances of him not playing the fourth Test as wicketkeeper.

Nitish Kumar Reddy: India suffered a big setback on Sunday evening when it was reported that 22-year-old all-rounder Nitish Reddy will miss the last two matches of the series due to a knee injury that he suffered while training in the gym on Sunday, with scans revealing ligament damage.
