An 1980s thrash metal guitarist and his wife have been arrested for some heinous crimes after police tracked a teenage girl to their New Jersey home.
Marc Piovanetti, 58, a former guitarist for Carnivore and Crumbsuckers, and his wife, Jennifer Piovanetti, 50, were taken into custody from their Fort Lee home last week and are now facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor, NJ Advance Media reports.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office explained that police started investigating the couple on February 23, when officers with the New York Police Department contacted their counterparts in Fort Lee about a child who had been reported missing the day before.
Police now say Marc met the girl, who was between the ages of 13 and 16, on the social media app, TurnUp – which connects people who share similar music tastes – and arranged to meet with her.
Once the girl was at his home, Marc allegedly plied her with marijuana and sexually assaulted her.
At some point over the course of the weekend, the girl was able to take Marc’s phone and began contacting her mother.
Officers were then able to ping the phone and located the teenager at the home.
Fort Lee police have since also accused Jennifer of being at the home when the girl was sexually assaulted and being aware of what was happening – with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office saying ‘she was aware of the child’s presence, along with another child under the age of thirteen who was also there.’

Marc was sentenced to 10 years probation at the time and was required to register as a sex offender.
He is now facing four counts of second degree sexual assault, second degree luring, second degree endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of third degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Jennifer, meanwhile, is facing charges of second and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
They are now both in custody at the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office pending their first court appearance.
In the meantime, authorities are asking any parent or guardian who believes their child may have received inappropriate online communications from Marc to contact the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
