Kate Middleton hosted her fourth annual Christmas carol service, Together at Christmas, at Westminster Abbey in London.
In March, the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer after undergoing a major abdominal surgery. Since then, she has undergone chemotherapy, which ended in September. Recently, the 42-year-old British royal opened up about her cancer battle to the media, apart from the updates she shared through social media. She discussed the year she faced while undergoing treatment. On December 6, Kate hosted her fourth annual Christmas carol service, Together at Christmas, at Westminster Abbey in London. She was accompanied by her husband, Prince William, and their children, Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte.
As reported by UK’s Channel 5, during the gala, the Princess of Wales had a brief conversation with Paloma Faith, a pop star who was one of the performers at her Christmas carol service. While conversing, the 42-year-old princess talked about the challenging year, saying, “I didn’t know this year was going to be the year that I’ve just had.”
When Paloma responded, “The unplanned,” Kate agreed with her, repeating, “The unplanned, exactly.” Furthermore, she said, “But I think lots of people this year have had such challenging times, and many who are here today.”

The official Instagram account of the Prince and Princess of Wales released some pictures from the gala on Friday. For the occasion, Kate was seen re-wearing her red double-breasted Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen coat paired with a black bow, tartan skirt and black suede boots. In the photos, she was seen sharing some fond moments with her children.
The caption read: “An evening to come together and celebrate this festive season as the Together at Christmas Carol Service returns to Westminster Abbey. Shining a light on individuals from all over the UK who have shown love, kindness and empathy towards others in their communities. Looking forward to sharing it with you all on @ITV and @itvxofficial this Christmas Eve!”
Over 1000 guests attended the British royal’s recent hour-long Christmas carol service, which focused on the themes of love and empathy. The gala was attended by those who went the extra mile for their communities and some who endured some difficult times this year. Among the attendees were the survivors of a knife attack which happened in July at a dance school in the UK.
