Social media has become a space where people either pass time, escape reality or find entertainment and information. For many, it has also turned into a profession. India has seen a massive rise in the influencer community across platforms like Instagram and YouTube, with individuals from various fields, such as fitness, comedy and beauty, getting attention. Recently, a list of the most popular social media influencers in India was released, featuring well-known names like Bhuvan Bam, Samay Raina, Ajey Nagar aka CarryMinati and even global sensation MrBeast. In a country of over a billion people, these influencers managed to stand out in the digital world.
As per Ormax’s list of the most popular social media influencers in India, CarryMinati has claimed the top position, followed by MrBeast, aka James Donaldson, in 2nd place. The 3rd, 4th and 5th spots are occupied by Bhuvan Bam, Dhruv Rathee and Sandeep Maheshwari, respectively. Ranveer Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, ranks 6th, while Samay Raina and Ankit Avasthi hold the 7th and 8th positions. Pearle Maaney is in 9th place and Harsha Sai secured the 10th spot.
For the second consecutive year, Bhuvan Bam, CarryMinati, MrBeast and Sandeep Maheshwari have made it to Ormax’s list of most popular social media influencers. Their presence shows that their content continues to be popular among many. Last year’s list also included well-known names like Ashish Chanchlani, Harsh Beniwal, Jannat Zubair, Technical Guruji, Flying Beast and Round2Hell.
Interestingly, even though Bhuvan hasn’t posted much on his YouTube channel, BB Ki Vines, for nearly a year due to his focus on OTT projects, his popularity remains strong. Meanwhile, CarryMinati and MrBeast created a buzz this year with their collaboration. Ranveer Allahbadia, who started his journey as a fitness influencer, has been getting attention for his podcast, which features a unique lineup of guests.
Meanwhile, Ormax’s research is based on a monthly survey of over 1000 people, aged 15 and above. Each participant is asked to name up to three social media platforms they use and two influencers they follow on each platform. This means that each person mentions up to six influencers in total.
