NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Don Pettit are preparing to celebrate Christmas in space after a festive photo of the duo in Santa hats was shared.
The image was posted following a recent cargo delivery by the SpaceX Dragon capsule, which included holiday gifts and supplies for the crew.
In the photo, Williams and Pettit are seen posing for a holiday portrait while speaking on a ham radio inside the ISS’s Columbus laboratory module.
“Another day, another sleigh. NASA Astronauts Don Pettit and Suni Williams pose for a fun holiday season portrait while speaking on a ham radio inside the ISS’s Columbus laboratory module,” NASA’s Johnson Space Center shared on X Monday.
The astronauts plan to recreate traditional holiday customs despite being far from Earth. They will enjoy special meals made from fresh ingredients sent from Earth and will connect with their families via video calls before Christmas, as per Hindustan Times report.
