CID, one of the most beloved dramas, is returning to the screens. The new season brings back some of the beloved officers on the show. Among others, Shivaji Satam, known for his role as ACP Pradyuman, is also looking forward to returning to the show for the second season. Recently, the actor revealed that returning to the sets of CID was quite emotional and that his grandson was excited to see him back in action.

In conversation with Etimes, Shivaji Satam expressed how glad he was to be back on sets with the crew. He stated, “We were in talks for CID season two for a long time, but no one knew when it would happen. But it worked out smoothly this time, and we have already shot a few episodes. I am enjoying being back on the sets of CID. I missed playing ACP Pradyuman and connecting with the audience again.” The actor also stated that, while he had aged over the years the essence of his role remains the same. Shivaji noted that when they first started 27 years ago, there were certain things he could do and that things weren’t the same right now.

What excites the actor even more is how delighted his 11-year-old grandson is regarding his return to the show. “Earlier, he was too young to watch the show and understand, but now he will understand it and enjoy it. Sometimes his school friends come over at home and they also get very excited to meet me. It’s a good feeling,” he stated.

Meanwhile, last month, the creators of CID posted a new video announcing the start of production for the highly anticipated new season of the popular television show. The performers and crew were there for the muhurat puja.

Apart from Shivaji Satnam, the show will feature Dayanand Shetty as Inspector Daya and Aditya Srivastava as Sr. Inspector Abhijeet. The previous season also starred late actor Dinesh Phadnis as Inspector Fredricks, Narendra Gupta as Dr. Salunkhe, Hrishikesh Pandey as Senior Inspector Sachin, Ansha Sayed as Inspector Purvi, Vivek Mashru as Sub-Inspector Vivek, and Shraddha Musale as Dr. Tarika, among others. The second season will start on December 21 on Sony TV.
