Millions of Hindus from around the world are expected to turn up for the Maha Kumbh Mela, slated to be held in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj next month. A magnificent manifestation of devotion, faith, and long-standing customs, the Maha Kumbh Mela is one of the world’s greatest spiritual assemblies. This remarkable celebration, which has its roots in Hindu mythology, takes place once every twelve years in four holy cities: Haridwar, Ujjain, Nashik, and Prayagraj. These cities are situated alongside India’s holiest rivers, the Ganga, Shipra, and Godavari, as well as the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the legendary Sarasvati.

Prayagraj will host this grand event next year from January 13 to February 26. To handle the expected turnout of the devotees and tourists, the state and central governments have imposed a series of measures.
Kumbh Mela 2025: Safety Measures
More than 40,000 police personnel will be stationed around Prayagraj to safeguard the tens of millions of devotees. To improve their security operations, the local authorities will use the latest technologies. A combination of intensive surveillance and artificial intelligence (AI) technology will strengthen the security architecture.
The security measures comprise ten different kinds of security activities in addition to AI-powered surveillance. These protocols will ensure that every facet of the event is meticulously managed, ranging from emergency medical services to crowd management.

Additionally, authorities are going to use drones and other advanced technology to continuously monitor the Mela grounds.
Kumbh Mela 2025: Health Facilities Available for Pilgrims
The Uttar Pradesh government plans to deploy more than 400 doctors and more than 700 paramedical personnel to the mela area to guarantee the pilgrims’ and tourists’ health and well-being.
This medical team will be available 24/7, and many of the beds will be designated for women and children. Furthermore, paediatricians and gynaecologists will be assigned shifts to attend to patients.

Kumbh Mela visitors are advised to take care of their belongings. It is important to note that carrying purified water will help you keep hydrated because standing and walking for extended periods can be exhausting. Choose clean, light food from trusted vendors, and stay away from street food that may not meet the hygiene standard.
Kumbh Mela 2025: Emergency Services
A massive workforce will be sent in to ensure the safety of the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. Civil police, traffic police, armed police, house guards, watchmen, and the central paramilitary force will all be sent.

Call the Mela Control & Fire Department immediately at 100 / 112 /1920 in the event of a fire or emergency. To notify the people or tents nearby in the event of a fire, create a noise, or shout a fire warning.
Along with fire outposts, fire stations will be set up and furnished with the following:
- Fire engines with medium and large capacities
- Water mist jeeps and bikes
- Rescue and foam tender
- Fire extinguishers
- Fire ambulance
- Sets of breathing apparatus.
