Autumn has officially arrived, and fall coffee drinks are back for another season.
Lauren Graham, who starred as Lorelai Gilmore in the TV show “Gilmore Girls,” shared her favorite fall coffee order with Parade earlier in September.
Many episodes in the “Gilmore Girls” series are set during autumn in New England, and the show lends itself well to the season. Many viewers associate the show with crisp air and coziness, with The New York Times even calling it a “fall tradition.”

Graham enjoys a seasonal drink, especially one on the sweeter side.
“I do get more sweet-tooth coffee-ish in the fall,” she told Parade.
However, the actress and author doesn’t typically reach for beverages featuring pumpkin or warm spices.

“I won’t really get a pumpkin spice latte, but I’ll go chocolate mint, like a peppermint mocha,” she said.
In 2025, Starbucks released its peppermint mocha, a holiday menu item, on Nov. 6.

This might seem early for winter, but Fox News Digital reported in August that recent consumer trend data show that people are embracing “season creep,” meaning they’re “shopping for seasonal products earlier than they did in years past.”
This year, Starbucks and Dunkin’ both launched their pumpkin spice lattes in August.

The pumpkin spice latte, or PSL, has become a popular fall beverage over the years.
Since the drink’s 2003 debut, Starbucks has sold hundreds of millions of PSLs, NBC News reported.

For those who, like Lauren Graham, enjoy a minty chocolate flavor combo as opposed to pumpkin spice, many Starbucks locations typically keep peppermint syrup and mocha sauce stocked year-round, allowing fans to get the same drink regardless of the season, according to Reddit users.

One user noted, “the only difference is during the holiday season [they] have the chocolate curls …sadly those aren’t year round.”

Aside from her role as Lorelai Gilmore in “Gilmore Girls,” Graham’s IMDb page shows that she has also played characters including Sarah Braverman in the “Parenthood” series and Grace Landry in “Reminders of Him,” a film that premiered in March of this year.
Graham is also the author of In Conclusion, Don’t Worry About It; Talking as Fast as I Can; and Someday, Someday, Maybe — all three of which are New York Times bestsellers, according to Penguin Random House.
