Taylor Sheridan has written the script for ‘Sicario 3’ as franchise gears up for return
The wheels are officially turning on a third “Sicario” film.
The “Sicario” franchise was created by Taylor Sheridan, and the first film was released in 2015. It featured an absolutely stacked cast, and received broad praise from critics and viewers.
It’s a dark and gritty movie about the covert war against the drug cartels. The second film – “Sicario: Day of the Soldado” – was released in 2018 with Josh Brolin, Benicio del Toro and Jeffrey Donovan all reprising their roles.
Now, it’s time to gear up to run it back once again.

“Sicario” earned nearly $85 million at the box office more than a decade ago against an estimated budget of $30 million.
While it wasn’t a monster at the box office, most of the film’s success and popularity came in the years that followed.
It’s truly a masterpiece and one of the rawest looks at the war against the cartels ever put on the big screen. The most impressive part is the audience is led to believe the main focus of the story is FBI agent Kate Macer (Emily Blunt).

In reality, the story is about Alejandro (del Toro), and that becomes clear once the commandos enter the tunnel system at the end of the movie.
