Netflix fans can’t stop binge-watching an ‘addictive’ thriller series – but for all the wrong reasons.Â
Starring the late Christopher Plummer and The Good Wife star star Archie Panjabi, Departure originally ran from 2019 to 2022 and then landed on Netflix in January.
It’s clearly proving to be popular with the streamers’ subscribers as it has already become one of the top-watched shows of 2025.
The show is a conspiracy theory drama, which follows the mystery behind a missing plane with its passengers.
Despite the show’s streaming success, many viewers have questioned the quality of the show’s acting performances.

The series follows accident investigator Kendra Malley (Archie), who must quickly solve the mystery as to why Flight 716 and the 256 people on board went missing.Â

In his final scene in season two, Howard reveals he has a secret illness.

Plummer passed away at his Connecticut home aged 91 in 2021.
