TV actress Chhavi Mittal recently clapped back at a troll who mocked her for hair loss—a side effect of her cancer treatment. The actress, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022, is currently undergoing hormone therapy. Addressing the insensitive remark, she called the incident the “death of humanity.
Chhavi Mittal took to Instagram to address the insensitive remark, sharing two pictures. In the first, she posed inside her gym, dressed in black and white athleisure. The second was a screenshot of a troll’s comment on one of her old workout videos, which read, “Sir ke baal ud gaye aapke, treatment karwao. (Your hair is gone, get treatment).”
Giving a befitting reply to the troll, she wrote in the caption, “Today I witnessed the death of humanity once again. I was mocked about my hair loss as a result of cancer treatment. Let us take a moment here to mourn this loss yet again.”
Sharing a health update with her followers, Chhavi continued, “For the uninitiated, I battled Breast Cancer in 2022 and will finish three years of continuing hormone therapy this April. It’s a 10-year treatment. This has a number of adverse effects, including as hot flashes, severe cramps, skin dryness and dehydration, mood swings, weight fluctuations, and hair loss.”
She added, “I can’t even begin to explain what hair means to a woman. First I battled to keep my breasts, since they are part of my womanhood, and now my hair, because it is also part of it, right?”
Furthermore, she stated that insensitive remarks like these only make things worse. Taking a dig at the troller for his comment, the actress wrote, “This person who ‘follows me’ is just doing so to troll me, not because he admires me. This guy is only one of many who do this with public social media accounts. This guy, like many others, must be exceedingly insecure to troll a cancer survivor over hair loss! This person, like all others, deserves kindness and prayer.”
“So dear troll, may you have a head full of hair and a cancer-free life, as well as a life free of trolls like yourself who objectify you by saying awful things,” she continued.
Chhavi concluded the post by saying, “Meanwhile, may we have a look at the wonderful figure I’ve sculpted through my persistent hard work and never-ending spirit! Yeah, three cheers to that!”
On the work front, Chhavi was last seen in the TV serial Laal Ishq in 2018. She has also been a part of shows like Adaalat, Ek Chutki Aasmaan, Bandini and Naaginn among others.
