Tottenham’s Premier League campaign has been dismal this season, with the team placed 15th in the standings after earning just 24 points from 23 games. Their form has been particularly poor in recent matches, with only five points gathered from the last 11 fixtures. Despite managing seven wins in the league so far, there is growing frustration among fans over the performance of head coach Ange Postecoglou. Criticism is also directed at chairman Daniel Levy, with a banner calling for his accountability unveiled during Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Leicester City. Although Postecoglou’s future remains uncertain, rumours about his potential replacement have been circulating.

As per TBR Football, Daily Mail reported that the former Bayern Munich manager Kovac is admired by Tottenham. Earlier, Kovac reportedly emerged as Jurgen Klopp’s successor at Liverpool. The Reds decided to appoint Arne Slot as their head coach after Klopp’s departure.

Kovac had most recently handled the managerial duties at Wolfsburg. The Bundesliga side decided to relieve him of his duties in March last year. The Daily Mail article claimed that Kovac is “available” but he seems to be “destined for Borussia Dortmund.”

In their last outing, Tottenham conceded a home 2-1 defeat at the hands of Leicester City. Following the loss Postecoglou told reporters, as per Reuters, “I’ve said all along, the players need help and I’ve also said the club are working hard in that area to try to alleviate some of those problems.

“Pape Sarr shouldn’t have played today. He obviously wasn’t fit. There are probably at least two who shouldn’t have been out there. They were just desperate to try to turn our fortunes around. Hopefully, over the next 10 days or two weeks, we should get some significant players back which I think will help this group a lot. It will give them the boost they need,” Postecoglou added.

The loss to Leicester City marked Tottenham’s 13th defeat, so far this season in the Premier League. In their next game, they will be up against Swedish side Elfsborg in the Europa League on Friday, January 31.
