This season has been interesting for both clubs with the Lions coming into the game at 2-1 and the Panthers at 1-2. The Lions look like their offense is clicking, but the defense remains a question mark. The same can be said about the Panthers.

Detroit’s offense has three key players: Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Jahmyr Gibbs. Gibbs is one of the most versatile backs in football and might be the key to the success for the Lions in this game.
For the season, the Panthers have allowed opponents to run all over the field on them. They have the league’s worst running defense based on yards allowed. For the season, Carolina is allowing 193.3 yards per game to opposing backfields, and Gibbs is averaging over 100 yards per game on the ground.
The Panthers will look to exploit a Detroit defense that is allowing 117.3 yards per game on the ground this season. Their running back, Chubba Hubbard, is good, but not quite as dynamic as Gibbs. If they can get him into space, he may be able to make some Lions defenders miss.
Where the Panthers are most likely to attack the Lions is through the air. Detroit is allowing a league-worst 299.3 passing yards to opposing quarterbacks this season. Bryce Young may be primed for a big game in this one.
