Bharti Airtel is preparing to roll out more 5G radios across the country to meet the growing 5G demand for mobility and fixed wireless access (FWA) by allocating its capital expenditure (capex).

Bharti Airtel reports a 505% jump in net profit at Rs 14,781 crore for the Q3FY25 quarter.

Bharti Airtel, one of the leading telecom operators in the country, is exiting from the global wholesale voice and messaging business due to a low-margin segment, as informed by the telecom’s vice-chairman and MD Gopal Vittal during the Q3 earnings call on February.

Vittal said that they have made the decision to exit this low-margin business, which would impact the top line in the coming quarters. He, however, added that this exit would have no impact on EBITDA due to low contribution marginally.

Bharti Airtel to roll out 5G radios

Bharti Airtel is preparing to roll out more 5G radios across the country to meet the growing 5G demand for mobility and fixed wireless access (FWA) by allocating its capital expenditure (capex).

He said that India’s average revenue per user (ARPU) remains the lowest globally. Tariff repairs are needed for the industry to achieve financial Stability and sustainable returns.

“We are not making any new investments in 4G capacity. Instead, we are deploying additional 5G radios as we expand and see more devices entering the market. These are the areas where capex continues to be allocated,” Vittal said.

Bharti Airtel on Thursday reported that its net profit jumped 505 per cent to Rs 14,781 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2024. The company recorded a one-time gain of Rs 7,546 crore during the reporting quarter.
