Trump says ‘no matter what’ he’s getting his Air Force One color scheme

President Donald Trump told DailyMail.com Wednesday night that ‘no matter what’ a new Air Force One would have his color scheme.

Trump memorably redesigned the presidential aircraft during his first term – using a red, white and blue that looked similar to his personal plane, Trump Force One.

Once President Joe Biden took over in 2021, he picked a livery design similar to the current Air Force Ones in service.

But with Trump back in the White House, the Republican has pushed for his design, even using it as a cake topper on Inauguration Day.

The model of the plane was also on display at Mar-a-Lago ahead of his Washington return.

The design is inefficient, as the dark blue paint could cause thermal issues, experts have warned.

But Trump has dug his heels in – and made his displeasure with Boeing known publicly on Wednesday after The New York Times published a report on the president’s ‘frustration.’

He first brought it up during an appearance at a Saudi-run investor conference in Miami Beach, Florida.

‘No, I’m not happy with Boeing, it takes them a long time to do, you know, Air Force One,’ Trump said.

Originally the new set of converted 747s were suppoed to be flying in 2024.

He pointed out that he had inked the Boeing contract in his first term.

Trump had started complaining about the high cost to build the planes in December 2016, amid his presidential transition.

‘I’m not happy with the fact that it’s taken so long,’ he reiterated.

‘And we may have to do something else. We may and go buy a plane, or get a plane, or something. But I’m not happy with the fact that it’s taken Boeing so long, there’s no excuse for it.’

Trump said he would ‘not consider’ Airbus – a Boeing rival – to build a new set of planes.

DOGE leader Elon Musk arrived back in Washington, after riding on board Air Force One, with a plush Air Force One toy – which showed the presidential plane in its traditional colors

‘I can buy one from another country perhaps,’ he mused.

Trump had toured a Qatari jet over the weekend while spending Presidents’ Day in Florida.

The president has tasked Elon Musk with speeding up the process to get the new Air Force Ones in the sky, The Times reported.

Musk was on board the plane Wednesday night, catching a ride back to D.C. after both men attended FII Priority Summit.

The billionaire charged with running DOGE was spotted carrying a plush Air Force One – with the original design – back to the White House, likely as a souvenir for his young son, X.
