Dodger Stadium crowd for playoff game last night was the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen

The Los Angeles Dodgers are on the brink of elimination, but their fans may already be in Cancun.

Video from the upper decks of Dodger Stadium Wednesday night has folks talking because it shows a rather … sparse home crowd for the team’s NLCS Game 3 showdown with the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Dodgers would go on to lose, 6-2, and now trail the series, 3-0, with a potential elimination game set for tonight.

A DODGERS-LESS WORLD SERIES WOULD HURT NOW, BUT HELP MLB LATER | BOBBY BURACK

Of course, that’s not the story we’re diving into right now. We can break down the Xs and Os of LA giving up back-to-back home runs in the 7th inning another time. Right now, I’d like to take a good, hard look at the Dodger Stadium crowd last night, because it’s one of the more pathetic things I’ve seen in all my life.

This is Game 3 of the NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES, folks.

Take a look:

This is such a bad look for the Dodgers, MLB

Good God. What are we doing here?

Look, I know “attendance” has been a big topic throughout these playoffs. The Rays, in particular, have been hammered by folks for having empty seats at Tropicana Park.

That doesn’t surprise me. It’s the Rays. I’ve lived in Florida my whole life. I’ve never seen the Trop sold out. Ever. And by the way, I love the Trop. GREAT ballpark. Gets a bad rap.

But they get a pass.

The LOS ANGELES DODGERS do not get a pass. This is supposed to be MLB’s marquee franchise, and this is what Dodger Stadium looks like for Game 3? Seriously? It’s pathetic. It’s such a bad look — both for Dodger fans and Major League Baseball.

“But Zach, it’s the LA traffic. It’s a nightmare!”

Nope. It’s not. That excuse doesn’t work here. Those seats were empty in the sixth inning. I’ll give you that excuse in the first inning or two. But not this late in the game. Sorry.

“But Zach, ticket prices for INSANE!”

Nope. There are tickets on sale right now for tonight’s Game 4 for as low as $80 (!!!) on Stubhub. That’s a gallon of gas in LA. I don’t want to hear that, either.

“But Zach, it’s October baseball! It’s cold!”

Obviously that’s not true in this case.

There is no excuse. None. Zero. It’s pathetic. It’s a bad look from a fanbase that, frankly, everyone else already hates. This certainly won’t help. At least the Brewers are on the cusp of ending all this silly three-peat nonsense.

Give me Miller Park (American Family Field nowadays, sadly) in the World Series all day long. Electric. The Brewers may be a “small market” team, but buddy, it’s going to look a thousand times better than whatever that was last night in LA.

Embarrassing.
