Shark Tank India’s Season 4 continues to captivate viewers with exciting pitches, innovative brands and high-stakes business deals. Aspiring entrepreneurs from across the country are presenting their brands in hopes of securing investment from the panel of “sharks.”

In the latest episode of the show, entrepreneur Pallavi Luharuka introduced her company, Bhavisya Plast, to the panel. She sought an investment of Rs 50 lakh in exchange for 1.5% equity for her patented innovation.

Explaining her startup, she said that her company was founded to develop bio-plastic for a sustainable future. Made from agricultural waste and eco-friendly materials, this biodegradable plastic is heat and water-resistant, with multiple potential applications.

In addition to eco-friendly plastic, the brand also offers other sustainable products, including lubricants and paints.

The episode saw sharks Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta and Chirag Nakrani competing to secure the deal. Impressed by Pallavi Luharuka’s vision, Namita Thapar praised her efforts, calling it a “good step, but a tiny start” towards saving the environment.

Pallavi added that she had partnered with Jadavpur University in Kolkata to develop a low-cost technological solution for converting waste-broken rice into ethanol. During this research, she accidentally discovered plastic, which later became the raw material for Bhavisya Plast’s bioplastic.

Hearing this, both Namita Thapar and Anupam Mittal were impressed.

Pallavi Luharuka also told the panel that the company has filed a patent for its innovation in India and a PCT in 140 countries. She then presented product samples to the sharks, who were amazed by her confidence, articulation and presentation skills.

Anupam Mittal, intrigued by her expertise, asked, “Where did you learn?”

In response, Pallavi Luharuka said that she is a gold medallist in chemical engineering, a cost and management accountant, an MBA in marketing and has years of experience working with multinational companies. Taken aback by her impressive credentials, Namita Thapar couldn’t hold back and called her a “superwoman.”

Stunned by Pallavi Luharuka, Shark Aman Gupta was the first to make an offer. He proposed Rs 50 lakh for a 2.5% equity stake, on the condition that the pitcher secures at least one client for a sales deal. He then immediately asked, “So, should we close the deal?”

Before she could respond, Anupam Mittal interrupted, saying, “Haan maat bolo (Don’t say yes),” and countered with an offer of Rs 1 crore for a 5% equity stake.

Namita Thapar matched Aman’s offer, while Chirag Nakrani also offered Rs 50 lakh for 2.5% equity, adding that he was open to partnering with other sharks. The sharks were so eager to be part of the company that they engaged in playful banter, each trying their best to secure the deal. At this point, Ritesh intervened and advised Pallavi Luharuka to step out of the tank and return with a decision.

Before she exited, Aman added, “If you need money, I’m also ready to offer you Rs 1 crore.” Chirag then asked, “Pallavi ji, do you want money or time?”

Amid the discussion, Namita turned to Pallavi Luharuka and said, “Basically, you are the shark now — we are pitching to you.”

After some deliberation, Pallavi returned and requested all four sharks to invest together. Initially, Namita hesitated, preferring to go solo, but Aman convinced her to join forces. Ultimately, Pallavi Luharuka secured Rs 2 crore for a 10% equity stake from Namita Thapar, Anupam Mittal, Chirag Nakrani and Aman Gupta.
