Perhaps the Premier League will not be rid of one wily Jamie Vardy ‘chatting sh*t’ and telling teams to ‘get banged’ with his no-nonsense play, as recent reports suggest that the Leicester City legend might be headed to Wolves in the upcoming summer.
Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy announced that he would depart the club at the end of the ongoing season, bringing the curtains down on a 13-year tenure with the Foxes that saw the Englishman clinch the coveted Premier League title in the year 2015/16.
Just this past week, Vardy announced that he would be leaving his beloved Leicester City after spending 13 years with them.
The 38-year-old has struck 181 times for the Foxes in over 400 appearances for the club and managed to claim the FA Cup and the Championship titles once each in addition to the PL crown during his time at Leicester.
But to the delight of many, the Premier League might just not be rid of Vardy’s classic ‘sh*thousery’, as reports from The Sun suggested that his thirst for PL glory is nowhere near quenched yet.
According to the Sun, Wolves boss Vitor Pereira is the current favourite to land the 38-year-old striker, as he prepares for the exit of £ 62.5 million star Matheus Cunha, most likely to Manchester United.
Vardy is undoubtedly a Premier League legend in his own right, having banged in 143 PL goals for the Foxes and rattled in 24 during their sensational title-winning triumph of 2015-16.
Despite his age, Vardy continues to showcase that he has enough on him to keep up with the rising demands in the Premier League, and adding a bonafide scorer like Vardy might just be the spark needed in Wolves’ attack.
Other murmurs of a possible move to other candidates in the Championship have also arisen in the meantime.
Newly-promoted Wrexham’s Hollywood owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, could potentially offer him at least £50,000 a week in the Championship, to help them bolster their dreams of making it to the Premier League.
On top of it all, it is also believed that Vardy’s boyhood club, Sheffield Wednesday, would love to welcome him back, in a full-circle moment for the English legend to sign off from the beautiful game eventually.
But, what remains constant, reportedly, is Vardy’s hunger to play in the Premier League, with the striker at the cusp of a historic 150 goals, 7 goals away from the milestone.
