The much-loved crime drama CID is back with a brand new season after a gap of six years. Ever since its premiere, the makers have been making sure to keep fans hooked to their screens with interesting plot twists and performances by a talented cast. Promising even more drama, Sony TV recently dropped an intriguing promo of CID 2’s upcoming episode. The clip showed the return of Shivaji Satam’s beloved character, ACP Pradyuman.
It is to be noted that ACP Pradyuman was earlier shown to have been killed in a bomb blast. His departure sparked a huge backlash on social media. Following the criticism from fans, the makers decided to bring the character back.
In the recently released promo, ACP Pradyuman confronts ACP Ayushman (played by Parth Samthaan) for targeting him. The two engage in a tough conversation, and Ayushman warns him about a traitor in the team. The promo starts with a voice saying, “ACP Pradyuman ke maut ka ab hoga parda faas.”
Following this, ACP Ayushman can be seen warning ACP Pradyuman, saying, “Aapke CID team me ek gaddar hai, jo aapko maarna chahta hai. Shak sabhi par hai sir, lekin nishana sirf ek hai – wo hai aap.”
The scene then cuts to show the team members of CID, including Abhijeet, Daya, Poorvi, Dr Salunkhe, and others.
The upcoming episode also shows Abhijeet embarking on a crucial mission to save a child, unaware that it will lead him into a trap. While investigating a case, he gets to know that it has several loopholes. Connecting the dots, he catches the criminals red-handed and saves a child. But while rescuing the girl from the kidnappers, he gets shot twice.
Daya, on the other hand, senses trouble and informs ACP Ayushman about Abhijeet. However, ACP Ayushman doesn’t pay heed to Daya’s intuition, which may lead to serious consequences later.
Featuring the iconic trio, Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava, and Dayanand Shetty, CID 2 airs on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV every weekend at 10 PM.
