Before the commencement of the sacred Amarnath Yatra 2025, the first image of Baba Barfani has been revealed, creating excitement among the devotees eagerly awaiting the pilgrimage to begin. With early access to this divine visual of Baba Barfani, devotees can now catch a glimpse of Lord Shiva from the comfort of their homes.

The Amarnath Yatra, one of the most significant pilgrimages in Hinduism, draws lakhs of Shiva devotees each year to the holy Amarnath cave in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva.

According to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, preparations are underway for the annual pilgrimage, which is scheduled to begin on July 3, 2025 and will continue until August 9, coinciding with another major Hindu festival, Raksha Bandhan. The pilgrimage will last for 38 days this year, providing a short window for devotees to seek blessings from Lord Shiva.

The newly released image from the holy cave in the Anantnag district shows the divine, self-manifested Shivling of ice, standing tall at approximately 7 feet. This supernatural and mesmerising form of Baba Barfani is once again creating great excitement among the devotees.

During this time, lakhs of pilgrims are expected to undertake the challenging journey to seek blessings from Baba Barfani. The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board has ramped up preparations, with snow clearance underway on both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes.

In light of recent concerns, particularly the Pahalgam attack, security arrangements have been tightened. So far, over 3.5 lakh people have registered for this year’s Amarnath Yatra.
