Kim Kardashian has undergone surgery to have irregularities removed from her esophagus, she revealed on her family’s show, “The Kardashians.”
In Thursday’s episode, the 46-year-old reality star said she had been feeling a bit sluggish, but first assumed it was just because she’d been busy.
“I’ve been feeling a little off lately. My throat is like killing me today,” she said in a confessional.

Early in the episode, a doctor told her that she appeared to have inflammation of the esophagus, and noted that she could have esophagitis.
She admitted in a confessional, “So, I’ve seen a couple of doctors, and it’s been heavy on my mind lately.”
The doctor suggested taking a round of medicine, then coming in for a procedure so he could get a better look at what was wrong and then determine if they needed to take further action.

“I haven’t really told too many people about this just because I think it’s, you know, something that really hits home for me, and I just don’t really want to go there with my dad having passed away from esophagus cancer,” she admitted to the camera. “Hopefully I can just take medication, and this will go away, but I just don’t know what’s going to happen.”

“The doctor says my esophagus has these irregularities and I have to have them cut out,” Kardashian said in the preview for next week’s show. “That’s the same thing my dad had.”

Kardashian first went public with her diagnosis of esophagitis a month ago in the season eight trailer.
“I have something called esophagitis,” she told a producer while getting her makeup done. “Didn’t your father, isn’t that what he died of?” the person asked.
She confirmed that it was.
