A beloved travel journalist who traversed 103 countries across seven continents during her decades-long career has tragically died aged 64.
Valarie D’Elia, who worked with NY1 and the Travel Channel, lost her 18-month battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) on Tuesday.
The condition is degenerative and impacts the brain and spinal cord. It has no cure.Â
Many New Yorkers will remember her for her iconic ‘Travel with Val’ segments.
