Virat Kohli’s wait is over!
The batting superstar, who is the most successful batter in IPL history, ended his 17-year-long wait for his maiden IPL trophy on Tuesday (June 3).
In the final match of IPL 2025 played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, RCB defeated Punjab Kings by six runs to become IPL champions. Kohli, as expected, top-scored for the Rajat Patidar-led side (43 runs from 35 balls) in the summit clash played in front of more than 90,000 fans.
RCB posted a total of 190/9 and then successfully defended it by restricting PBKS to 184/7 in 20 overs.
After RCB sealed the deal, Kohli got emotional, but after controlling his emotions, he enjoyed RCB’s first-ever title win like a child. His actor wife Anushka Sharma was present at the stadium to be part of the historic moment, and he was joined by his former RCB mates – Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers – as well for the celebrations.
Several videos of Kohli celebrating RCB’s title win are going viral on the internet, and one among those many is his adorable moment with Ravi Shastri. Kohli, who is known to be very close with Shastri, ran towards him after lifting the trophy, and the duo shared a warm hug.
