The upcoming Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada is known as Parivartini Ekadashi. On this day special rituals of Lord Vamana, the fifth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, are held. It is believed that fasting and worshipping Lord Vamana on this day removes all problems from life.

According to religious beliefs, on this tithi, Lord Vishnu changes his position while in a Yoga Nidra (sleep) in the suspicious period of Chaturmas. People believe that any wrong thing done during the muhurat of Parivartini Ekadashi can bring a bad time in your life. There are certain activities that you shouldn’t perform on this day. What you should avoid during this time?

It is advised to avoid food that contains garlic, onion, meat, fish, or eggs. Also, avoid sleeping during the day.

One should avoid any kind of negative emotions. Do not criticise others or gossip with others. Avoid hurting or insulting parents, teachers, or anyone else.

Consuming rice on the auspicious occasion of Ekadashi is considered as inauspicious. Avoid doing so.

Do not cut your hair, or nails or engage in any similar activities on this day as it can attract bad results in your life.

According to reports, Ravi Yoga will start at 6:06 AM and will last until 8:32 PM on September 14, followed by Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga. Adding to it, Uttara Ashadha Nakshatra and Shobhana Yoga also will form on the same day, which is considered very auspicious among the devotees. Devotees should perform the rituals and worship of Lord Vamana during Ravi and Shobhana Yogas.
