The Houthi group’s media arm on September 16 released footage of launching what it claimed was a hypersonic missile at Israel. The footage showcased the ‘Palestine 2’ missile that landed in an open area in central Israel early on September 15.Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree had claimed on September 15 that they fired a ballistic missile at “a military target” in Jaffa, which is part of Tel Aviv. The IDF rejected the Houthi claim the next day and said that the missile was not hypersonic. The Houthis had claimed that ‘Palestine 2’ “hypersonic” missile traveled 2,040 kilometers in 11.5 minutes, withstanding all of Israel’s attempts to intercept it.However, Israelis said that at least one Arrow interceptor hit the missile but did not destroy it completely.
