Social media rips dude who snatched Liverpool star’s match-worn jersey from two kids … or did he?

You’d think by now most people would know that snatching a game-used ball or jersey from a kid at a sporting event is always a bad move, but it appears at least one person didn’t get the message … or did he?

English Premier League club Liverpool had just played Nottingham Forest to a 2-2 draw, and while he was walking off the pitch, Liverpool’s Alexander Isak decided to make a young fan’s day.

He spotted the kid, popped off his jersey, and went to hand it to him, only for it to be intercepted by some dude.

Oh, boy…

These are always rough.

At this point, every functional adult knows that you yield cool sports souvenirs to kids. I’m not saying I agree with that. I think it actually builds character when a 31-year-old fella like myself dives in front of a youngster and takes a home run ball from them with a highlight-reel catch.

I get a cool addition to my office; they get a valuable life lesson about life not being fair and scumbags walking among us.

The thing is, I don’t do that and abide by the unwritten rule because I don’t want to get eaten alive on social media more than I have to.

However, in an instance of something that never happens — aside from the fact that it happens all the time — social media may have jumped the proverbial gun on this one.

Alright, it’s good to see that situation ended the way it should have, with that young soccer fan getting his favorite player’s sweaty shirt.

But let this be a reminder that if you’re going to shame someone, make sure you get all the facts before you start serving up a heaping helping of it.
