Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday took a pot shot at Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress over increasing crime incidents and deteriorating law and order situation, saying that the party’s “misrule” in the state has been marked by lies, lawlessness and loot.
While addressing a gathering of BJP workers in Durgapur, PM Modi said that the people of West Bengal are now turning towards the BJP with hope.
He said that Bengal is a land of great people but under the TMC’s rule, the youth of the state is forced to migrate to other states. He further urged to bring a change by saying that the people need to bring Bengal out of this bad phase.
“Today the youth of West Bengal is forced to migrate to other states. Even for small works, the youth has to go to other states…Today, instead of new industries coming here, the old ones are being shut down. We have to bring Bengal out of this bad phase”.

Further slamming the Mamata Banerjee government, PM Modi said that instead of new industries coming here, the old ones are being shut down. He further said that TMC is acting like wall in path of West Bengal’s development.
“Why will investors come to Bengal where riots take place and police are biased. Money is being demanded from businessmen, the people of the TMC threaten them…The ‘Gunda Tax’ of TMC obstructs investment in the state,” he said.
Slamming the TMC for teachers’ job scam and Murshidabad violence, PM Modi said that there is no ray of justice in the state.
“…TMC is against investment and job creation in West Bengal. Riots like Murshidabad happen in West Bengal and the police take unilateral action. There is no ray of justice in West Bengal… The state government cannot protect the lives of the people of the state…” he said.
PM Modi On Bengal Rape Case
The Prime Minister also hit out the Bengal government over the rape cases saying that atrocities against women in the state give us pain and anger.
He further said that even hospitals are not safe for young women and the TMC has spared no effort in protecting the perpetrators.
“The mistreatment of women by a party that preaches the values of Maa, Mati, and Manush deeply pains and angers me. It is disheartening to witness such actions occurring on the very land of Kadambini Ganguly, India’s first female western-trained medical doctor,” he said.
Give BJP A Chance
The Prime Minister further urged the people to give BJP a chancechoose a government that is hardworking, honest, and strong.
“The poor condition of West Bengal can be changed. After the formation of the BJP government, West Bengal will become one of the top industrial states of the nation…When the TMC government is removed from power, then only there will be real development in West Bengal…” he said as quoted by news agency ANI.
