An active shooter opened fire at Emory College on Friday afternoon – raining bullets near students’ apartments in Atlanta, Georgia.
Terrified locals were told to ‘RUN, HIDE, FIGHT’ after a gunman shot out near multiple buildings in the vicinity – including at a nearby CVS pharmacy at Emory Point.
Bullets shot by the suspect shattered windows at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) headquarters, which is located near Emory College.
The shooter’s identity and their target is currently unclear.
One police officer was shot and taken to a local hospital.
Dozens of police vehicles swarmed the college campus on Friday afternoon. Emory University and Emory University Hospital have been placed on lockdown.
Georgia’s Attorney General Chris Carr posted on X: ‘We’re horrified by the news out of Emory University and praying for the safety of the entire campus community.’
