Ace Indian shooter Manu Bhaker has faced backlash for showing off her Olympic bronze medals at public events. It all started after Manu was captured holding her medals while posing for the paparazzi a few days back.

The 22-year-old has now hit back at her critics, perhaps in the best way possible as Bhaker dropped a social media post featuring a picture of all the medals and accolades that the Indian shooter has won so far during her illustrious career.

Manu has several gold medals in her decorated cabinet. She has finished atop the podium in several global events, including the ISSF Shooting World Cup, World Championship Asian Games and Commonwealth Games.

“I was 14 when I started my journey in shooting. Never had I imagined I would reach this far. Once you start something, make sure you do everything possible to chase your dreams relentlessly, no matter how tough it gets,” Manu Bhaker wrote in the caption of her post.

Manu Bhaker mentioned that winning an Olympic medal had always been at the top of her wishlist. “Stay focused, stay driven, and let your passion fuel your journey. Every small step forward brings you closer to greatness. Keep going, you’re capable of much more than you imagine! And, yes, my dream of winning Olympic gold medals continues,” she added.

The ace shooter shared another picture of herself wearing the Olympic bronze medals. About carrying them to public events, she said, “The two bronze medals I won at the Paris 2024 Olympics belong to India. Whenever I am invited to any event and asked to show these medals, I do it with pride. This is my way of sharing my beautiful journey.”

Manu Bhaker has already established her stature as India’s most successful female shooter in history. She is also the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal in shooting. Manu secured an individual bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event before replicating the feat in the mixed team category with Sarabjot Singh.

Manu kicked off her professional training following the conclusion of the Rio Olympics in 2016. Five years later, she represented India at the Tokyo Games but could not reach the final due to a pistol malfunction.
