Mourinho set his laptop in front of the camera in protest (X)
The former Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid manager later told reporters he believed Dzeko was onside, and displayed a frame from the build-up to the strike to prove his point.
Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho was booked by the referee on Sunday after he protested against a VAR decision to disallow a goal by placing a laptop in front of a TV camera, displaying a picture in an effort to show the offside decision was incorrect.
Mourinho, known for his antics and unimitable personality, was left frustrated during his side’s encounter against Antalyaspor, when stiker Edin Dzeko’s strike in the second half was called offside.
In hilarious fashion, Mourinho took his laptop, with a screenshot of the play that was deemed offside, and placed it in front of the TV camera near his dugout calmly, showcasing the referees’ blunder for the world to see, only to get booked with a yellow card.

Meanwhile in Turkey, Mourinho was upset that Dzeko’s goal was ruled offside too quickly so he did the only logical thing… he setup his laptop in front of the camera showing the decision. This is why he’s the Special One. THIS is football heritage. pic.twitter.com/oj3E48n96z

“For us, it’s a good goal,” Mourinho said after the 2-0 win at Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig.
“I like good VAR… I just want a VAR that helps the referee to take the right decisions.”
Fenerbahce chairman Ali Koc had accused Turkish Super Lig’s video assistant referees of bias against his club last April, with the league deciding to hire foreign VARs for the rest of the 2023-24 season.
This was not Mourinho’s first brush with authority as earlier this month, the Portuguese was fined for missing a press conference after a 3-1 defeat to Galatasaray, though he claimed that he “waited 70 minutes” for his opposite number to give his press conference before deciding to leave.
“I waited for the [Galatasaray manager] Okan Buruk press conference. It didn’t end. I didn’t disrespect anyone, on the contrary, I felt disrespected,” he said at the time.
“In 24 years I have never run away from a press conference or a question. I had to wait at the door because they wouldn’t let me in.”
“I understand that the visiting coach goes to the press conference first, but there are limits,” he added.
Last season’s runners-up Fenerbahce are second in the table with 16 points from seven matches, three points behind champions Galatasaray.
Mourinho’s side will visit FC Twente in the Europa League on Thursday.
