Pamela Anderson admits she’s on a ‘glorious and imperfect new path’ after ‘finding a fresh slate’ as she accepts Glamour Impact Award

Pamela Anderson has revealed she’s on a ‘glorious and imperfect new path’ as she was awarded the coveted Glamour Impact Award on Tuesday.

The Baywatch star, 57, took to the stage to accept the honour during a glitzy ceremony at Raffles in London, and told guests how she’s found a ‘fresh slate’ over the past few years after rediscovering her passion for acting.

After showing her fresh-faced complexion on the red carpet, Pamela passionately shared that she landing her recent role in The Last Showgirl finally helped her ‘shake off the cobwebs’ of her dreams to be an actress.

In the film she stars as a seasoned performer who is forced to reevaluate her life, when her Las Vegas show abruptly closes after 30 years.

She said: ‘I pray people are provoked by the film, and resonate with it but also the character of Shelley, she’s doing the best she can even though it’s never quite enough, which is how so many of us feel.

‘This role helped me shake off the cobwebs of a dream I’d almost forgotten, to be an actress.

‘It was wonderful to be a part of a film where all the women cheered each other on, we formed a sisterhood, that for most of my career, I found women were so competitive and cruel with each other.

‘Standing here, I can tell you it’s much better when we love and support each other, thank you to all our cast and crew.’

Pamela went onto pay tribute to her two sons Brandon, 28, and Dylan, 26, calling them ‘miraculously strong and resilient hard workers’ who ‘take nothing for granted.’

She continued: ‘By getting the chance to play this role [in The Last Showgirl], the mask came off, and the world opened up. And I have to tell you, I like it. Feeling rooted for is new and curious.

‘It’s overwhelming and humbling and most of all, it’s fun. I’m living in the mystery of not knowing what’s next, and that’s exciting.

‘Few get an opportunity to be here at all, let alone the second chance, and I’m going to make the most of it.

‘As a survivor of sexual violence, I now see the pattern I was stuck in and what I was trying to achieve in my own way to exert my own power.

‘And I know it takes tremendous strength to heal, and I thank everyone who’s supported me on this journey.

‘These last few years have felt like a fresh slate. I’m on my path, a new glorious and imperfect one, but the lesson I’ve learned is not to let what’s happened to me define me what I do.

‘I dedicate this award to women everywhere, rising above their painful paths and finding the courage to be their best selves. God bless you, and thank you.’

It comes after Pamela admitted she’d been finding it ‘tough’ to stay single following six failed marriages to five men.

Pamela was wed to rock star Tommy Lee, rapper Kid Rock, twice to poker player Rick Salomon, very briefly to Batman co-producer Jon Peters and more recently to former bodyguard Dan Hayhurst.

Getting candid about her personal life she told the publication:  ‘This last couple of years…it was an effort to just stay alone and figure out what I love, what I like, what I want to do.’

When asked why she’s is seeks out ‘bad boys’ Pamela insisted: ‘I didn’t go after any bad boys. Bad boys came after me!’.

The actress, said about her new outlook on life: ‘I’m definitely much happier now. Ten years ago, I felt like a failure. I think it was probably the last 20 years, maybe.’

Elsewhere during the ceremony, Jodie Turner-Smith was awarded the Trailblazer trophy by pal and fellow actor Naomie Harris, 48.
