Tiger Woods strikes plea deal in Florida DUI case
Tiger Woods appears in a Florida court to officially strike a plea deal in his DUI case. Fox News contributor Paul Mauro and the ‘Fox & Friends’ hosts break down the details of the golfer’s plea deal and license suspension.
President Donald Trump reacted to Tiger Woods’ plea agreement on Wednesday.
Trump, who is close with the legendary golfer, lamented Woods suffering “great pain” as he’s dealt with persistent back issues for several years.

“Look, I know Tiger, very well. He’s a great guy,” the president told Fox News Channel’s Peter Doocy. “He’s unique in so many ways, especially as an athlete, but also as a man. He suffers great pain, great pain. It’s a very tough situation because they didn’t find alcohol on him. He didn’t test positive at all for alcohol. But because of his horrible back – he had, my opinion, a bad doctor – but he had a back operation that did not work out well. And he is under pain.
“And so, it’s a tough deal when you’re taking a painkiller because you’re under pain and tremendous pain and you have a problem and you test positive. He would have told him that. I mean, it’s a prescription painkiller, but I thought it was very fair. I mean, I think, he’s going to have somebody drive him. I told him that a long time (ago). Why don’t you get somebody to drive you? So, he’s going to have somebody drive him from now on. He’s just a very special guy. I’m glad. I’m glad that was resolved.”
Woods struck a plea deal ahead of his appearance in court. He pleaded no contest to the charges of willful, wanton reckless driving – second offense and a careless driving citation.
His license was suspended for five years.

The move came five months after the legendary golfer was involved in a rollover crash that led to charges of driving under the influence and refusal to submit to testing. He pleaded not guilty to the charges at first.

In March, Woods was traveling at a high rate of speed on Jupiter Island when his Land Rover clipped a truck and rolled onto its side. He managed to crawl out of the vehicle without any injuries. He told a deputy officer that he was looking down at his phone and changing a radio station when he hit the truck.
Woods agreed to a Breathalyzer, which showed no signs of alcohol. However, authorities said he refused a urine test. A sheriff’s office report said deputies discovered two pain pills in his pocket and showed signs of impairment.
Woods famously told responding officers he was on the phone with the president.

Woods later made his first public appearance since returning from the treatment in June. He helped introduce the PGA Tour’s plans to revamp its schedule for the 2028 season.
