School shooting rampage leaves three dead as cops descend on scene in Bosnia

A gunman has killed three staff members after opening fire with an automatic weapon at a school in Bosnia, local media reports.

Three employees of a high school in the western town of Sanski Most were killed when a man, who was also employed at the school, opened fire at around 10.15am, according to regional police.

A fourth person, who is thought to be the attacker, sustained serious injuries, with Bosnian media reporting that he tried to take his own life after the attack. 

The injured person was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he is said to be in a serious condition. 

The gunman is believed to have been a janitor at the school, Bosnian media reports, while the victims have been identified as the school’s director, secretary and a female teacher. The details of those involved have not been confirmed by police.

A number of staff members are gathered at the site in a ‘state of shock’ after they reportedly witnessed the bloody attack. 

Police and emergency services are on the scene and an investigation is underway.
