Dominik Mysterio will essentially pull double duty at Triplemania 34.
The AAA mega champion was in Omos’ corner when the 7-foot-3 giant defeated Rey Mysterio on Night 1 in Las Vegas on Friday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. On Night 2, Mysterio will defend the title against El Grande Americano.

Mysterio has morphed into one of the top talents in pro wrestling whether he’s seen on WWE or AAA programming. While he hasn’t been as big of a force on “Monday Night Raw” or “Friday Night SmackDown” recently, Mysterio feels the heat from the crowd every time he enters the ring in AAA.
Corey Graves, who will be on the call for Triplemania, said AAA offers pro wrestling fans a different side of Mysterio.
“So Dirty Dom is the reigning Mega champion, which is the top title in AAA. I think, if you need another reason, another incentive to check out AAA as opposed to a ‘Monday Night Raw’ or in addition to I should say, you’re going to see a different side of ‘Dirty Dom.’ You’re seeing, I think, Dom with a little more freedom to be how he wants to be as opposed to how others perceive him to be and that’s kind of been the beauty of AAA as a whole,” he told OutKick Dropkick.

“We’ve had quite a few superstars come down for a cup of coffee or a few-month run and really reinvigorate themselves, if not reinvent themselves. And I think you’re seeing the true essence of who ‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio is and who he’s capable of being on a grand scale in AAA right now. He’s still got his Judgment Day thing happening and that’s the nature of this beast. You tell a story for so long, it’s hard to put the genie back in the bottle.”
Graves predicted that the Mysterio fans are enjoying in AAA will eventually be prominent on WWE’s shows.

“So sometimes it doesn’t happen overnight or as quickly as everybody would like to, but knowing this business as well as I think I do, I think on a long enough timeline, you’re going to see AAA ‘Dirty Dom’ on Raw, on SmackDown because the guy’s the complete package,” he said. “He grew up in the business. He’s a savant for it and he just has this aura about him, and the way that the Mexican fans receive him versus the American fans is night and day. It’s so much fun. But I truly think you see the best of ‘Dirty Dom’ in AAA.”
