Two victims of a deadly Tuesday night helicopter crash in Los Angeles have been identified as journalist Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw, NBC4 Los Angeles confirmed.

Moreno and Marciniw were employees of Angel City Air, a helicopter charter company that operated NBC Los Angeles’ NewsChopper4, NBC4 reported.

The pair were covering a deadly bus crash in downtown Los Angeles when the helicopter, which NBC4 confirmed belonged to the network, lost altitude and crashed, killing a third person on the ground who has yet to be identified.

Moreno had been a stalwart of both NBC4 and Telemundo 52’s aerial coverage for years, going by the moniker “Eli in the Heli.”

She had worked closely with Marciniw since 2023, with the pair sharing social media photos of them working and dining together through the years.

Marciniw was, according to NBC4, a Southern California native who graduated from Burbank High School in 1974.

“We are deeply saddened to share that a helicopter providing aerial news coverage for NBC4 and Telemundo 52 was involved in a fatal accident in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of those who lost their lives,” NBC4 and Telemundo 52 said in a statement.
