Meta continues to invest in Messenger with more focus on video features sprinkled with AI tech.
Meta has rolled out a significant update to Messenger, which brings several features designed to improve upgraded audio and video calling. This update addresses user feedback, focusing on better call experiences and more personalized features to improve overall communication.
AI Backgrounds in Video Calls
Among the new features, we get to generate the background for the video call with the help of AI. The users can now set images on the background created by artificial intelligence. This feature makes the use of the app interesting as the background can be changed with any place such as a beach or a bust city at night. For ease, users just have to click the effects icon within the video call’s sidebar and then opt for the “Backgrounds” option.
HD Video Calls
Messenger now supports HD video calls that will be automatically turned on while using a Wi-Fi connection. For cellular data users, the HD video can be configured in the call settings. This improvement should help users with clearer visuals during a call and make the conversation feel more immersive.
Noise Suppression and Voice Isolation
For even better call clarity, Messenger has added background noise suppression and voice isolation into it. These tools help to reduce background noise so that the call sound is more clearly transmitted. These settings are available for users to activate with the help of the call settings menu. This feature is most useful in noisy environments where propelling communication can be easily affected.
Audio and Video Messages
Other than live call improvements, Messenger is now enabling users to record voice or video messages for the recipient in a situation where the recipient is not reachable. Every time a call ends, a user can leave a message by pressing the “Record message” button. This ensures a way of passing a message if interaction is not possible at the time of calling.
Hands-Free Calling with Siri
For iPhone users, there is the integration of Messenger with Siri so that a user can make calls or send messages just by using their voice. People can speak to the voice assistant like “Hey Siri, send a message to [contact] on Messenger,” which means that people can send messages without physically touching their devices.
