The AI features got delayed but Nord users are finally getting them
OnePlus is the latest brand offering a slew of AI features for its mid-range phones like Realme, Oppo and Google.
OnePlus has rolled out a slew of new artificial intelligence (AI) features for its Nord 4 phones this week. The company introduced three new AI features for these smartphones, which were being integrated via an AI Toolkit directly into the sidebar.
Many expected these AI features to be announced with the OnePlus Nord 4 smartphone, which was launched in July. However, the AI features were delayed, and they are available now. In addition to that, the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite 5G will also get access to these features, but only for buyers in India.
In a community post, the tech giant stated that the Indian users of the Nord CE 4 Lite smartphones will be able to access the AI feature, while Nord 4 users from Europe, Russia, India, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, South Asia, and Latin America will also be able to access the new feature.
OnePlus New AI Features For Nord 4
The AI Toolbox offers features like AI Speak, AI Summary, and AI Writer. It is to be noted that this toolkit will be available in select models and markets.
AI Speak: As the name suggests, AI Speak is a text-to-speech (TTS) feature that will let smartphone users use AI to read aloud any page or article from browsers like Chrome. It works with news apps like Google News and certain apps with high text volume.
The feature might not work for some social media apps. Users can select male and female voices to work as their reading assistant. With the Speak feature, smartphone users can also use the replay function, skip sentences, and even adjust the playback speed via a bottom sheet that appears on the screen. Moreover, the readable text appears separately in the same interface.
AI Summary: With this feature, individuals can use AI to create summaries of a large document or any information on the web, just like Google and Samsung’s summarization feature. Once the article summary is generated, OnePlus allows users to copy, share, or save it to the Notes app. You can also stash the article in the File Dock.
AI Writer: Last but not least, the AI Writer feature is an AI-powered text-generating tool that works as your personal writing assistant. It can write essays, text messages, emails, reviews, and even generate text based on the image on your phone. The AI Writer will be suggested in apps like shopping, social media, and email. Users will get an option to control the tonality of the generated text.
To use these features, users will have to first enable screen recognition. They can do this by going to the Settings and then visiting the Accessibility & Convenience option.
