India’s double Olympic medallist, PV Sindhu is all set to tie the knot with Venkata Datta Sai on December 22, later this month.
Who is Venkata Datta Sai?
Based out of Hyderabad, Venkatta Datta Sai is an executive director at a data-operations-based company called, Posidex Technologies. He completed his Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Accounting and Finance at Flame University in Pune. He then did his Master’s in Data Science and Machine Learning at the International Institute of Information Technology in Bengaluru.
He began his professional journey at Jindal South West (JSW), where he worked as a summer intern and also as an in-house consultant later on. He also has experience managing an IPL team (likely the JSW-owned Delhi Capitals, though not specifically mentioned) which is mentioned in his LinkedIn profile.
Since then he has taken a dual leadership role where he has been the managing director of Sour Apple Assent Management for the past years along with his current role at Posidex Technologies.
Some of his work is currently being used by leading banks for their credit-based services.
The couple’s wedding is set to take place in Udaipur and comes after she was able to end her long-standing title drought by winning the women’s singles division at the Syed Modi India International with a convincing win over China’s Wu Luo Yu 21-14, 21-16. She last won a title back in the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, ending her two-year-long wait for a title.
Her win at the Syed Modi International also makes it the third time she has won the title with her last two instances coming in 2017 and 2022.
The wedding has been planned so that she can be back on the international circuit by January, as reported by Sportstar. The reception is set to be held in Hyderabad on December 24.
Many had questioned whether she had what it takes to continue for the coming years, but Sindhu confirmed after her win that she does plan on continuing for some more time, hoping to make use of her experience.
“This (win) will definitely give me a lot of confidence. Being 29 is an advantage in many ways because I have a lot of experience. Being smart and experienced is key and I’m definitely going to play for the next couple of years,” she confirmed as quoted by Times of India.
