Aaron Ramsey inked an emotional farewell message to Cardiff City on Sunday following his exit from his boyhood club, which he rejoined in the 2023 season.

The 34-year-old former Arsenal star’s return to Cardiff served to be a challenging stint for the midfielder, who was plagued by injuries.

Ramsey, who came through the ranks at Cardiff before becoming the youngest to debut for the club in the year 2007, made the move to Arsenal in 2008 and helped the Londoners to three FA Cup titles and two FA Community Shields.

“I leave Cardiff city with a lot of different emotions,” Ramsey began.

“Although it has been personally challenging at times I made sure to give my all on and off the pitch for this wonderful club that is so close to my heart,” he revealed.

“For now I am on a new adventure but I will be keeping a close eye on the club as always and it will forever have my support,” the Welshman continued.

“Good luck to the staff and all the players for the upcoming season and a big thank you to the amazing fans! Until next time, Aaron,” he signed off.

Ramsey, who is tipped for a move to Mexican outfit Pumas Unam, has 86 caps for Wales, for whom he has netted 21 times in international competitions.
