Pranali Rathod and Aashay Mishra’s on-screen chemistry in their show Durga had fans hooked to the daily soap. While the television drama went off air earlier this year, the duo continued to make headlines for their relationship rumours. Their joint appearance at a Holi celebration further fueled the speculations about their romance, making them one of the industry’s most talked about on-screen couples. Amid the ongoing buzz, Aashay recently sat down for a chat and cleared the air whether he is dating Pranali or not.
Speaking with Tellychakkar, Aashay Mishra dismissed his romantic involvement with Pranali as he said, “Aisa kuch bhi nahi hai, we are just good friends” (There’s nothing like that, we are just good friends). “We’re really good friends, that is it. We’ve been co-actors and we vibed really well, that’s it. And we have common topics to talk and that is how we spend time and that is why she’s around and I’m around.”
The ongoing speculations about Pranali and Aashay’s affair began after the latter dropped a post featuring him with the actress. Seemingly from their Holi celebrations, the clip included in the post captured fans’ attention, leaving them wondering whether the duo is seeing each other. The duo developed a strong bond with each other while shooting for Durga wherein Pranali essayed the titular role and Aashay played Anurag. The show concluded in January 2025 but the duo seemed to have remained friends even after that.
Before these rumours, Pranali was speculated to be in a relationship with her Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai co-star Harshad Chopda. While none of them confirmed the relationship, fans were convinced that something was brewing between the two. However, the actress left everyone disheartened when she deleted all pictures with Harshad from her social media handle.
Pranali and Harshad were also speculated to be getting married. Reacting to the same, the actress told Times Now, “I got a lot of calls and DMs for confirmation. Toh nahi koi shaadi nahi ho rahi hai. I am very much single and mera abhi shaadi karne ka koi irada nahi hai.”
She added, “Fans love us a lot. I love the fact that they make a lot of edits on social media. I completely understand fans’ feelings.”
