Abusive and racist tweets of rising star Dem who’s being courted to run in Texas

A potential Texas Democratic political candidate has a social media presence filled with racist tweets and vulgar posts about President Donald Trump.

Tejano music superstar Bobby Pulido is being heavily recruited to run for the House of Representatives in Texas’ 15th district in 2026, according to Politico.

Republican Monica De La Cruz won the district with 57.1 percent of the vote in November.

Democrats in South Texas think the Latin Grammy winner could help them gain ground in an area where Trump has surged in popularity.

‘I have strongly encouraged Bobby to run for Texas 15,’ said former Democratic Rep. Filemon Vela, who represented a neighboring district until 2022.

‘His professional popularity, his political acumen and his center-right disposition make him the ideal candidate for that district. The Democratic Party needs to start getting smart about the candidates that we put forth. Bobby will take that seat back.’

However, his social media presence is filled with racist and vulgar posts that are likely to be used as ammo against his campaign, reported Fox News.

‘How convenient that Wikileaks only hacked the democrat party. Open your Asian eyes. That’s more rigged than anything,’ Pulido said in a 2016 Twitter exchange with an account called GOP Asian Americans.

The two went back and forth about Trump’s 2016 campaign against Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

‘You are f*****g blind if you think she is worse than he is,’ Pulido said.

Pulido made a derogatory statement towards other races in 2015 when a Twitter user asked him in Spanish, ‘What would you say to people who bully me because I listen to your music?’

‘Tell them I said f**k their race,’ Pulido replied. It is unclear which race he was referring to.

In other posts, Pulido has made vulgar comments towards Trump – which could dissuade voters in the 15th district, where Trump won the 2024 election by three points across some portions.

‘C****a a tu madre,’ Pulido said in a tweet to Trump in December 2016, which translates to ‘F**k your mother.’

‘I’d like to give you the biggest “f**k you” you piece of s**t, a****e, d**k head, son of a b***h,’ he said in a 2017 tweet to Trump.

Pulido even admitted his intentions to run for office during a livestream announcing his retirement from music in November.

‘Growing up, I was always intrigued by the idea of public service. In 2026 I’ll be running for public office in the attempt to fulfill my lifelong dream to serve my people,’ he said.

Pulido did not specify which political party he would run with during his November announcement.

‘People are exhausted from a grueling political season. In due time, everyone will know what I stand for and in what capacity I’d like to serve,’ he said.

However, he joined Beto O’Rourke for a rally during his run for Texas Senate against Ted Cruz back in 2018, according to Rolling Stone.

Pulido started his music career in 1995 with the platinum-selling album Desvelado. He has since released 14 albums and earned a Latin Grammy for his EP Para Que Baile Mi Pueblo in 2022.
