Qualcomm’s new chipset finally makes AI available to more people
Most premium smartphones these days offer AI features that let you edit photos or even tweak the videos. And soon we could see these tools come to phones that cost under Rs 30,000 thanks to the new Qualcomm chipset announced this week.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 version rolls out to the market with brands like Oppo, Realme and Honor, giving people access to Gen AI features and improved gaming performance. We’ll be seeing new phones launch with this chipset in the coming months.
Gen AI For More Users: What To Expect
Qualcomm says the general performance with the new chipset will improve and you will see the same with the graphics output that should give you better gaming numbers. Even then, the company claims the battery levels will also get better which is definitely the need of the hour.
When it comes to AI, Qualcomm says the new chipset will offer on-device processing of AI features like summarising, drafting emails and more. It will be interesting to see how the likes of Oppo and Realme integrate these features into their mid-range phones.
The new chipset is also bringing support for aptX lossless Bluetooth audio quality and making wireless audio gear work better. The charging speeds for the battery will also get faster which you usually have going up to 80W in some cases. We’re eager to see how the new chipset shapes the levels of these sub Rs 25,000 smartphones and if its rivals can add another version to get the market going in a big way.
