Star Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is seemingly looking for a move to Real Madrid, after he was told by the Manchester United management that he is free to exit the club in the summer, as the latter draw close to the end of a very disappointing season, according to a report in Defensa Central.
Garnacho made his frustration clear after United’s 1-0 Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, slamming head coach Ruben Amorim for leaving him on the bench until the last 20 minutes.
Garnacho expressed disappointment in United’s poor season as well, pointing out that the side couldn’t defeat any big opponents.
“Until we reached the final, I played every round. And I played 20 minutes today, I don’t know. I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens next,” Garnacho said after the Europa League final.
According to previous reports, Manchester United were willing to back Garnacho, but his latest outburst has fuelled the looming transfer links even more.
According to reports, Manchester United would let Garnacho go for the right price, and Amorim has instructed the footballer to find a new team as well.
For a footballer who has scored 11 goals and has 10 assists in 58 matches and someone Erik ten Hag once described as having the X-factor and the potential to become one of the world’s best, there is no shortage of interest from top teams.
European teams such as Chelsea are monitoring his situation, while teams from the Saudi Pro League are expected to enter the race as well.
As per Defensa Central, Garnacho might follow in the footsteps of his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, and try and join Madrid.
The report says that Garnacho is frustrated at United and has instructed his agent to explore a move to Real Madrid.
The report adds that Garnacho has lost patience after his Europa League final snub and now looks for an immediate change.
Garnacho’s agent is expected to contact Madrid to measure their interest before considering other options.
Manchester United will be hoping Real Madrid take the chance to sign Garnacho this summer, but they wouldn’t mind if another team stepped in instead.
