Marking World Vegan Month, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India announced the winners of its 2024 Vegan Fashion Awards. Vegan fashion has gained momentum in India with renowned fashion designers, retailers, makeup and skincare brands responding to the growing demand for cruelty-free and sustainable options.
To commemorate this shift, PETA India every year honours fashion moments and brands that have made a difference with their conscious efforts to bring change. This year, celebrities including Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, Genelia Deshmukh, Lara Dutta and Harshvardhan Rane won big for celebrating vegan fashion.
“These days, consumers are increasingly rejecting products derived from cruelty to animals. And so, designers and brands are responding with stunning plant-based leathers, luxurious cruelty-free personal care products and soft vegan silks. This year’s winners are proving that living vegan has never been more accessible or stylish. PETA India proudly honours compassionate artists and businesses making the world a kinder, more compassionate place,” says Ashima Kukreja, chief corporate affairs liaison, PETA India.
