The popular TV show, Anupamaa is once again dominating headlines after the news of one of its cast members, Alisha Parveen being replaced surfaced. Alisha played the role of Raahi, the lead Rupali Ganguly’s daughter in the show. While the news of her exit started doing rounds on social media, the actress shared that she did not quit herself but was removed by the maker without explanation. Alisha shared an update for her fans on her Instagram handle and also expressed how much she would miss the show.
Alisha wrote, “Hello everyone, I didn’t quit the show #Anupama but I don’t know the reason exactly why this happened, everything was good but I don’t know why this suddenly happened, it was shocking for me too. But thank you so much for loving Raahi/Aadhya, I am so grateful to be a part of this show, I worked so hard for the character, but I don’t know what just happened, just thankyou everyone who loved me! I will miss this show from the depth of my heart.”

In an interview with Etimes, the actress noted her final shoot for Anupamaa was completed. The actress further told the portal, “I had a meeting yesterday and was told about this decision. I am completely clueless but it happens sometimes. I will focus on my future projects now.” She expressed gratitude for the opportunity and how everyone admired her chemistry with Shivam Khajuria.
According to a report by India Forums, the creators have approached actress Adrija Roy for the role of Rahi. According to sources quoted by the portal, Adrija has already done a mock shoot for the character and is expected to take on the part soon. Adrija Roy rose to prominence after appearing in Star Plus’ Imlie and most recently, in Kundali Bhagya, which went off the air this month.
Meanwhile, Anupamaa has taken a general leap recently and Alisha Parveen, Shivam Khajuria and many others were introduced to the show. Post leap, several other cast members, including Sudhanshu Pandey, Nidhi Shah, Madalsa Sharma, Shivam Saxena, Gaurav Sharma, Kunwar Amar and others have bid farewell to the show.
