Amal and George Clooney looked the picture of relaxation as they holidayed in St Tropez, south of France ahead of Christmas on Wednesday.

The Hollywood couple flashed beaming smiles as they walked hand-in-hand while heading for lunch together in the sun-soaked location.

Amal and George were spotted outside the eatery which is close to their $8.3million chateau – named Domaine Le Canadel – in Provence.

Amal, 46, looked incredible in a pair of tiny denim hotpants, which showcased her long lithe legs as she strolled to the lunch date with George.

She styled the shorts with a pretty lace top and a pair of woven heeled mules, which further boosted her statuesque frame.

Amal accessorised with a beige and gold bag from Chloe for £2,050, a pair of square sunglasses and statement drop earrings to complete the look.

Meanwhile, George looked every inch the Hollywood hunk as he proudly held his wife’s hand during the romantic outing together.

George, who flashed a beaming smile, was sporting a navy polo shirt with a pair of blue chinos and loafers to complete his summery look.

The A-lister shielded his eyes from the sun with a pair of aviator style shades.

George and Amal, who met in 2013, have been married for 10 years and share twin children, Alexander and Ella, seven.

At a charity gala this year, George sweetly said he would ‘support his wife in anything she was involved in’ as he stood proudly by her side at the bash.

He told People on the red carpet: ‘She’s always on the right side of history, and I’m always so proud to be in the same room with her no matter what and this is an event where we get to focus all the attention on the people who don’t get enough attention.’

Returning George’ sweet sentiments, Amal said: ‘He’s an amazing advocate, and it just means so much to me to be able to do this work together and for him to help bring to life some of the stories that we’re telling tonight.’

At the beginning of the year, it was reported that the couple had deserted his £15million Oxfordshire mansion with his back garden underwater to start a new life in the sunnier climes of the South of France.

Neighbours living near the star in the picturesque village in Berkshire on the banks of the River Thames say they haven’t seen George or Amal for months.

The actor’s home was hit by torrential rain – and the back garden was flooded twice in the 13 months with the river bursting its banks.

They were later pictured stepping out in more benign weather in Provence and are believed to have relocated with their two children to the medieval village of Birgnoles.

The Clooneys’ enchanting and sprawling 18th century mansion is set in a 25-acre vineyard and boasts a pool, tennis court, boules pitch, vast gardens, an ornamental lake and an olive grove. Clooney bought the stunning property, which is surrounded by lavender fields, for £6.5 million in August 2021.

The mansion comes with its own private boathouse, gym, spa, 12-seat home cinema and swimming pool. It reportedly underwent an 18-month renovation before the actor and his family with human rights lawyer wife moved in.

If the weather in Provence was to take a turn for the worse, Clooney also has the option of heading off to Italy to his luxurious home on the banks of Lake Como, which he purchased in 2002 and is now valued at close to £80million.

As well as their properties in Europe, the Clooneys also own homes in both New York and Los Angeles across the pond in America.
