Amanda Holden has joined the likes of Pete Wicks and Kylie Minogue in leading a poignant new campaign to mark World Mental Health Day.

The presenter, 53, is one of 400 famous faces in posing for a black and white snap with their eyes closed in a bid to encourage people to ‘take a moment together’.

The new campaign will encourage members of the public to upload selfies of themselves to a virtual exhibition, where they will see themselves alongside a hosts of stars from the world of TV, film, sports and music. 

Alongside Amanda, Strictly star Pete and fellow TOWIE alumni Jess Wright feature in the striking nationwide interactive exhibition as they strive to raise awareness of mental health.

Other stars taking part in the five-week campaign include Idris Elba, Liam Gallagher, Yungblud, Sharon Osborne and Kylie Minogue.

Ant and Dec also appear, as well as couple Matt and Emma Willis, footballer Jill Scott, fitness expert Joe Wicks and singer Olly Murs.

Fans who upload their eyes closed selfies to takeamoment.uk will see their images – which are the heart of Take A Moment movement – displayed alongside the celebrities at the famous Piccadilly Lights. 

The images will form a part of a moving 15-minute video, with the portraits capturing some of the UK’s most recognisable personalities in vulnerable moments of quiet and calm.

The snaps are to encourage people to take a moment to stop, reflect and recalibrate.

Amid the campaign, a number of famous faces have shared how they take a moment with Olly Murs, who’s pal Caroline Flack tragically took her own life, revealing steps back by going to the gym or popping round to see his Nan.

Joe Wicks shared: ‘When I ride a motorcycle, I’m off my phone, I’m focused, I’m sort of in a flow state. It’s not selfish. If you’re not at your best, then you can’t help everybody else.’

Chris O’Dowd shared that he takes a moment’s peace on his morning dog walk.

Meanwhile, Gok Wan practises 60 seconds of smiling when he wakes up in the morning and tries to listen to his brain.

While Jess Wright, who enjoys a morning coffee to herself, added: ‘Life is tough at times. 

‘These little moments for yourself are the moments we need to take care of, the moments that keep you grounded.’
