Sara Carter became the latest Fox News star to join the Trump administration as she’s been named the nation’s ‘drug czar.’Â
The Trump Cabinet has been well populated with fixtures from the conservative-leaning network placed across multiple departments. Â
Carter, who has been a contributor on Fox News Channel since 2017, will head up the Office of National Drug Control Policy.
Trump said Carter, 44, has tackled the fentanyl and opioid crises, and has exposed terrorists, drug lords and sex traffickers.
‘Sara is an Award Winning Journalist, who has been on the front lines of this International Fight for decades,’ Trump said on Truth Social.Â
‘From Afghanistan to our Border, Sarah’s relentless pursuit of Justice, especially in tackling the Fentanyl and Opioid Crisis, has exposed terrorists, drug lords, and sex traffickers,’ he added.
‘As our next Drug Czar, Sara will lead the charge to protect our Nation, and save our children from the scourge of drugs.’
A spokesperson for Fox News confirmed that Carter is no longer a contributor to the network as of today. Â

She has one multiple journalism awards for reporting on the brutality of Mexican drug cartels.Â
Her position requires Senate confirmation to run the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.
The office makes policy recommendations regarding various drugs and coordinates programs between different agencies on substance use.Â
Carter succeeds Rahul Gupta and if confirmed, becomes the first woman to serve as drug czar in a non-acting capacity.Â
She would also become the 22nd Fox News personality to join the Trump administration, according to The Wrap.Â
Perhaps the most high-profile appointment has been Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
