Rupali Ganguly revealed top gynaecologists told her that she wouldn’t be able to conceive a baby. However, her faith in God ultimately brought her the miracle she had hoped for.
Rupali Ganguly rose to meteoric fame with her stint in the daily soap Anupamaa. While the actress has done several other shows, she is best known for her role as the titular character in the Rajan Shahi-produced television series. Just like on the reel, Rupali is also a real-life doting mother to her son Rudransh, whom she welcomed with her husband Ashwin K Verma in 2013. However, the actress recently revealed that she struggled to embrace motherhood.
In a video posted by Anupamaa’s production house, Director’s Kut Productions, on its Instagram account, Rupali shared that best gynaecologists had told her that she wouldn’t be able to conceive. But her faith in God made it possible. “I had gone to the best of Gynaecologists, and I was told will not be able to have a child. My belief in my Mata Rani, Vaishno Devi, is so so strong. Jo maangti hu mai zidd karke maangti hu or woh mujhe de deti hai, pata nahi, sach mey maa hai woh,” said the actress.
She continued, “Mai unke paas gayi, and I said I really want to experience motherhood. I conceived naturally, and for me, it was nothing short of a miracle. It was one of the biggest miracles in my life to become a mother and have Rudransh.” Sharing Rupali’s revelations, Anupamaa’s production house wrote, “@rupaliganguly opens up about her ups and downs in our lastest Ganpati special.”
Earlier, in an interview with ETimes, the 47-year-old actress talked about her profound devotion to God and her commitment to animal welfare. During the conversation, she highlighted the beauty of Sanatan Dharma and said, “Who are we without the presence of God? We are nothing. Our Sanatan Dharma allows us to connect with God in any form we choose. I have a special connection with animals—whether it’s elephants, snakes, dogs, or cats. That’s the beauty of our religion. God can manifest in any form, whether it’s Goddess Lakshmi with her owl, Kartikey on a peacock, or Ganpati on a mouse. It teaches us compassion for animals.”
Further, she quoted a teaching of Sai Baba and added, “Our religion already teaches us that we should have compassion for animals. Sai Baba said, if you give your first roti to a dog, then I will get roti. So please be kind to animals. For me, God is Dog spelt backwards. God is everything for me.”
Before portraying the titular character in the superhit serial Anupamaa, Rupali played Monisha in the popular sitcom Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and has starred in several television shows. Apart from daily soaps, the actress has also participated in reality TV shows and has appeared in a handful of films.
