A man who claims he spent money to fund Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s shock rise to Congress says the ‘Squad’ Democrat has ‘betrayed’ her district.
Ramon Ramirez Baez, a lifelong Democrat who voted for Donald Trump in November and committee member in the New York Assembly, claims he helped get her to the debate stage and propped up her Congressional campaign when she primaried establishment Democrat Joe Crowley.
Now, Baez is working on behalf of the campaign to improve the Roosevelt Ave. section of Corona, Queens in AOC’s district, which has become a huge new red light district thanks to the arrival of hordes of female Venezuelan migrants who are working as prostitutes.
Baez, a key member of the ‘Let’s Improve Roosevelt Ave.’ coalition, says Ocasio-Cortez has been a ghost in Corona.
‘We never saw that lady, never, she disappeared. She [didn’t] do anything for the community, nothing, nothing.’
He told Fox News Digital that Ocasio-Cortez never makes any appearances in her Queens office and is available by appointment only.
‘She disappeared from my community. You never saw Alexandria in my community, nobody saw her in her office. All the time, closed,’ he said.
Baez believes that his former protégé has forgotten about the very people who shocked the world by putting her in office.

‘What happened? You have to be [in the] community to do an event. She never did any event. I never saw Alexandria come to do a town hall meeting, to listen to the community, nothing. She disappeared.’
‘She goes all over the place, like a movie star, she goes to Texas, all over the place, but what about the community?’
He says the Ocasio-Cortez – who was inspired to run for Congress after working on the 2016 campaign of Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders – has pushed an agenda he would have stopped had he known about it.
‘If she said to me, she is socialist, I would never support it. She only defends the socialist agenda, which is not for the American people. She doesn’t understand what [socialism] means,’ said Ramirez Baez, who has lived in Cuba and the Soviet Union.
He says he wants to apologize to the community for endorsing her and feels she lied when she told him he was like a brother to her.
Ocasio-Cortez was re-elected to Congress with 68.9% of the vote in her district, which straddles Queens and the Bronx.
DailyMail.com has reached out to Ocasio-Cortez for comment.
Roosevelt Avenue in the Corona neighborhood of Queens came to the nation’s attention last year, when it was revealed it is filled with Venezuelan migrants offering sex services in the open-air, so-called ‘Market of Sweethearts.’

In recent weeks sex workers have been seen walking the streets during the day, with many aggressively soliciting even as children get out of school or during their lunch hour, as reported by PIX11 News.
Previously, the Bronx was home to the Big Apple’s highest concentration of sex workers for hire.
Mayor Adams said the situation is just one of many ways in which the migrant crisis is affecting the city, which has received over 120,000 new asylum seekers since last spring.
When asked by reporters about the open-air sex market, Adams said the situation has been brought to his attention, and he has visited the area himself, confirming that ‘illegal’ activity is taking place publicly at all hours of the day and night.
The Democrat said the city’s ‘intel’ says many of the sex workers are Venezuelan women who have recently arrived to New York. It is unclear if those women were sex workers at home and if they are selling their bodies of their own free will, or if they have been trafficked and coerced.
Last month, Adams announced a new, seven-point plan called ‘Operation Restore Roosevelt.’
The effort will put together over a dozen city agencies in ‘a collaborative, sustained, and intensive multi-agency response to address persistent quality-of-life and public safety issues.’
‘Roosevelt Avenue is one of the most diverse avenues in our city — it is home to businesses from all over the world and New Yorkers from all over the world live and raise their families nearby,’ said Adams.
‘This road should be the pride of our city, but for too long it has been plagued by persistent public safety and quality-of-life issues. We won’t allow this to continue any longer.’
